My Valentines Day Gift To You

Okay, since I know a huge majority of women will be spending their weekend with Christian Grey, the fun doesn't have to stop after you leave the movie theater. Hollywood may be giving you Christian on the movie screen but I'm giving you Dailan O'Maley for free (first time ever!) on your kindle. So, if you need a fix as you come down from your Christian high or if you're like me, and waiting a few weeks for the crowds to die down at the movies before seeing it....then Dailan is your man. I mean, who wouldn't want to spend their Valentine's day with a sexy, sarcastic Irish guy? So, I'll supply the hot guy, and you supply the chocolate and wine. Oh, and spread the word to whatever friends you think would enjoy him as well....there is plenty of him to go around! Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Reading!

Everything Old Is New Again.....To Someone

A few days ago I got a message from a future writer who was asking me for advice. ME? I was really flattered, I'm hardly Nora Roberts or Danielle Steel, so her message alone put a smile on my face. She had told me that she read everyone of my books and adored them which made my smile even bigger. I gave her the same advice that I had given to myself when I first started writing:

1. Write the story for yourself, the way that you want it to be told as if no one else will ever read it. (because truthfully, I never did imagine that anyone besides my family and friends would ever read it, let alone LOVE it the way that readers have)Don't be afraid to pour your heart and soul into your writing for the world to see. And if you do it good enough, the reader will become immersed into your fictional world that you have created that all they can see are the characters that you've created while feeling the emotions that they are going through.

2. NEVER, EVER forget who reads your books.....your readers! Remember the ones that were there for you from the very start and the new ones that will gain each day. (You may have written the greatest story in the world and that's a huge accomplishment but when you have others to share it with.....it becomes so much more meaningful). If you make it big.....remember your words that you have typed out and YOUR READERS are the ones that put you there - It's a joint effort!

So, after I sent this reply off to her, I received another message yesterday, from a brand new reader that had just read An Unplanned Lesson after she was caught by a Throwback Thursday excerpt that I had posted on my Facebook Page.

Dear Ms. Rinyu:
I spent the entire day reading An Unplanned Lesson after seeing a teaser the other night on your Facebook page. I cannot not tell you how much I enjoyed this book and I'm scratching my head wondering why this is the first book of yours that I have ever read. You created such deep and enjoyable characters in Dailan and Nicole. Every single one the characters in this book were so well thought out which pulled me into the book even further. I have since one clicked An Unplanned Life because I just have to see what's going to happen next for Dailan & Nicole and because I just am not ready to say goodbye to them!

You have found yourself a new reader and I cannot wait to be introduced to more of your wonderful characters in all of your other books.

So with that, I now have a very important third bit of advice to add :

3. NEVER, EVER stop promoting your older books. Don't just focus on your newest release or a book that you plan on soon releasing. TREAT ALL OF YOUR BOOKS EQUALLY - the same way you would do with your children. Because to a brand new reader all of your books are new releases!

The Tear Drop Scale.....Updated

This post is an oldie but goodie I did several years ago. I've updated it to include some of my newer books. If you need a good cry or laugh....check it out!

Studies show that a good cry is good for you...so do something healthy for yourself! Think of my books as an emotional workout! I used the teardrop scale to rate the intensity of the work out that you will receive! So, whatever kind of cry you are in the mood for, big or small....I got ya covered:

Easy Silence:

5 HUMONGOUS tear drops (Super intense: river of teardrops. May cause a massive headache, severe swollen eyes, and some therapy after reading)

A Cry For Hope:

5 tear drops ( Intense: Do not apply any eye make up prior to reading this story, unless you want to be mistaken for a raccoon. Read this when you are completely alone with a box of tissues or better yet, a roll of Bounty paper towels)

A Cry For Hope

The Exception To The Rule:

4 Tear Drops (Moderate: You may ruin your eye makeup while reading, so apply at your own risk.  Box of tissues nearby but there are breaks in the sadness that will allow your eyes to clear up and look somewhat human between cries)
The Exception To The Rule

The rest are all 3 Tear Drops (Mild: Eye makeup should survive. A few tissues from the box will be needed nearby to dab you eyes every now and then. You will easily be able to disguise your crying by saying that you have something in your eye if someone else walks in the room while you are reading)

Drowning In Love

Blind Side of Love

A Right to Remain

Thursday Afternoon

When Autumn Ends

If you'd rather laugh instead (but I can't promise that there won't be a few tears mixed in among the laughter)

Consider these books the cool down portion of your workout:

An Unplanned Lesson/Life

An Unplanned Lesson
An Unplanned Life

Or:

A Will To Change

When The Chips Are Down

Keepin' The Faith

*These workouts are all available through Kindle Unlimited.

A Little Cosmetic Surgery

For months I have been looking at both of my covers from The Unplanned series and wishing that they matched a little better. I want readers to know that they are part of a series instead of looking like two different books. Especially when it is absolutely necessary to read An Unplanned Lesson prior to An Unplanned Life. So after much thought I decided to have the cover for An Unplanned Life go under the knife. I am so happy with the way that it came out and the way that my awesome cover designer Amy Queau from Qdesign Amy-Queau  thought of the idea of the cracked picture frame for a little symbolism.....now it FINALLY looks like a sequel! What do ya's think??

If you haven't read either of these books yet, now is the chance to get them on sale:

An Unplanned Lesson is only .99 Cents

An Unplanned Life is only $1.99

Go grab your copies today......I guarantee you will fall in love with Dailan O'Maley.

March Is Going To Be Exciting!!

Well, we made through the two worst months of the year (in my opinion). So, now we can start looking forward to spring....I hope! Even if the weatherman says that spring isn't in the air just yet.....there's still other exciting things going on this months in my fictional world:

March 7th is An Unplanned Lesson's 1st birthday. Can you believe that Dailan O'Maley has only been around for a year? It seems like we've known him forever. Keep your eyes peeled for a little giveaway to help Dailan and Nicole celebrate their day!

March 14th I will be releasing A Cry For Hope and I cannot wait! I am so happy with the feedback that I have been receiving from the advanced readers so far. I know it sounds mean but....I love to make people cry while reading my books. To celebrate the release of A Cry for Hope there will also be a release party. Dress is VERY CASUAL, you can drink as much as you want and don't have to worry about driving and did I mention....lots of great games, giveaways and prizes! You can RSVP here: CLICK HERE AND SAY YOU WILL COME

I'll even bring the music.....check out the playlist that I put together for A Cry For Hope. Yes, I'm patting my computer challenged self on the back for figuring this out: A Cry For Hope Playlist

Hope all of you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

TGIF....

You know the saying....Thank God it's Friday! Really, Thank God! This feels like it has been the longest week ever! But it's been a pretty good one.....An Unplanned Lesson made it into the top 100 of  New Adult books on Amazon, so I'm really happy about that. More people are getting to know Dailan & Nicole and hopefully falling in love with them.

A Cry For Hope will be releasing in a little over a month. I cannot wait to share this story with all of you. Make sure you join the release party, it will be lots of fun! Games, giveaways and a lot more. Feel free to invite a friend as well:

I've made a lot of progress with my current WIP. I'm actually 3/4 of the way done and loving this story so much! Still trying to figure out the "perfect ending" for these characters and one that will make my readers say, "Aww!"  I normally have my epilogue done before I even start writing the book (I know I'm a little backwards) but that helps to keep me focused in the direction that I want to go with the story. With this one I don't....but I'm sure it will come to me when I least expect it.

And lastly, today is the last day to get An Unplanned Lesson for .99 cents. So, if you haven't read it grab it while you can:

Here's a little Dailan and Nicole to get you through your Friday! Hope you have a good one!

Another good day of writing.....I hope!

Well, it's snowing AGAIN....not that I'm complaining because all of this extra time inside gives me lots of time to do what I enjoy most....WRITE! I just hit the 50k words in my current WIP over the weekend and will be posting the synopsis on Goodreads very soon! It will be a spinoff/companion book to A Cry for Hope but you won't have to read A Cry For Hope (but I hope you still do) first to understand it. Just wanted to make that clear to all of you cliffhanger hater's A Cry for Hope does not end on a cliffhanger.

In other news....

For those of you that haven't met Dailan and Nicole yet, An Unplanned Lesson, the first book in the Unplanned series is on sale for .99 cents. I even extended this sale to itunes as well. Although the price change has not reflected yet.

Also, over the weekend my technically challenged self created a website. It's not much but it's a start:

Well  I'm  going to try and get back to writing as the snow falls down outside my window. Hope everyone is staying warm or maybe you're one of the lucky ones that has warm weather and sunshine today.....wish I was there!!

The Dating Game....Beth Rinyu Style

I don't think anywhere in the U.S. is being spared from the bitter cold right now. Days like this have me dreaming of summer and the warm weather.

So, let's play my version of the dating game. Which one of my book boyfriends would you want to keep you warm on a cold Winter night?

Bachelor #1

JULIAN KIRON.....Meet Him Here

Handsome doctor, dark hair, crystal blue eyes, sweet and caring. If his good looks don't win you over his big heart will.

Bachelor #2

DAILAN O'MALEY.....Meet Him Here

Sexy, arrogant, womanizing lawyer. Oh and did I mention? He has an Irish accent. Once you get past his crass exterior he really does have a huge heart.

Bachelor #3

TRAVIS MONTGOMERY.....Meet Him Here

Handsome Olympic swimmer. Killer body, protective. He may be a womanizer and fool you at first but for the right girl he's a one woman man.

So, ladies which one would you choose? Well, why choose just one? There's plenty of them to go  around for everyone!

Stay warm and hopefully one of these fine gentlemen will be helping you do just that tonight!

MY FAVORITE BOOK MOMENTS OF 2013

I can't believe another year has come and gone. Is it me, or does if feel like the older we get the faster time goes by? I hope that everyone has a very safe and happy new year and that 2014 is your best year yet! I cannot wait to introduce everyone to all of the new characters that will be born this year and I'm hoping that you will fall in love with them the same way that you have with all of my others. So in honor of all the characters that you were introduced to in 2013 here are some my favorite moments from all of my books:

Merry Christmas from Dailan, Nicole & Ryan

And last but not least.....spend some time this Christmas with Dailan, Nicole & Ryan.....

I arrived at Dailan’s by noon. I was surprised when I wasn’t excitedly greeted by Ryan at the door like the last time I had visited. Still, I wasn’t disappointed to see Dailan behind the door, looking just as handsome as ever. He opened the door and took my hand. “Shh,” he said as he led me through the house, back into the great room. Ryan was sitting in front of the TV, playing a video game.
“Hey, Ryan,” Dailan said, causing Ryan to look up from his game.
My heart melted at the sight of Ryan’s smile, which stretched across his face. He dropped the controller to the ground and came running over to greet me. “Miss Morgan, you came!” he exclaimed, giving me a hug.
“He told me you weren’t coming,” Ryan said as he playfully pushed Dailan. I smiled and handed Ryan his Christmas present. “Thanks!” he said as he sat down on the floor to open it.
I took a seat on the couch to watch him as Dailan sat down next to me. “Wow!” Ryan exclaimed as he tore away at the paper, revealing a buildable racetrack that seemed to be all the rage with the boys in my class this year. “Thanks, Miss Morgan, this is cool.”
The enthusiasm on his face was all the thanks that I needed. “You’re very welcome,” I said.
Ryan walked over to the Christmas tree and returned with a small box for me. “Ryan, you already gave me a present,” I said, remembering the yummy vanilla candle he had given me the day of our class party.
“That was really from my Aunt Lisa,” he said. “This is from me. Well, I mean my Uncle D paid for it, but I picked it out.”
I laughed as Dailan shook his head at Ryan. “Ryan, you never tell a girl that someone else paid for a present that you gave them,” Dailan said, playfully smacking Ryan on the head.
“Just like you never tell a girl that someone else cooked dinner for her.” I couldn’t resist as I started to giggle. I watched as a grin stretched across Dailan’s face. I slowly removed the wrapping paper and the lid from the box as Ryan looked on anxiously. I immediately smiled upon seeing the beautiful sterling silver necklace with a whimsical heart charm dangling from it.
“Oh, Ryan, I love this.”
Ryan’s smile was a mile wide. “I told you she liked hearts,” he said to Dailan.
“Yup, hearts are my favorite thing,” I said.
“They had all different kinds of hearts that you can add to it. But I liked this one best,” Ryan said proudly.
“This is an awesome heart, Ryan,” I said as I gave him a hug.
I lifted my hair as Ryan clasped it on my neck. I looked down at the heart hanging from my neck. It truly was one of the best presents I ever received because I knew how much it meant to Ryan to give it to me.

Unplanned.....Book 3?

Over the past week I have been receiving such beautiful messages about An Unplanned Lesson and An Unplanned Life. You guys have no clue how much it means to me to know that you love Dailan and Nicole as much as I do. I think my nicest compliment was from this reader:

"You really know how to write a character and make people love them, hate them and actually feel what they are going through."

That makes me happy because that is the main thing that I always strive for when writing my books. I know that if I can't get into a character when I'm reading a book (whether it be loving them, hating them, feeling sorry for them, wanting to kick their butt....etc...etc) then it takes away from the book, so that is why I feel so strongly about great character development - they can make or break a book.

Okay, now that I've rambled on let me get to the whole point of this blog post.....Many of you have asked me if there will be a book three in the Unplanned Series. And it pains me to say - really it does.....no. I really wish that there was more of Dailan and Nicole's story to give, but there just isn't. I think these two have been through enough and deserve their HEA forever.....don't you? Now, with that being said, that doesn't mean I'm not open to perhaps doing a book about some of the other characters in the book. Jonathan? A prequel of Dalian's brother and sister in law (yes, ladies you would possibly get a little Dailan in that one but not Nicole)? These are just idea's that I have in my head right now.

I will miss Dailan and Nicole just as much as you guys, but sit tight.....I'm creating a  whole new cast of characters for you guys to fall in love with!

Here's a little scene from An Unplanned Life for you to revisit and put a smile on your face:

What's Better Then Kids Going Back To School......An Unplanned Lesson on sale for .99 cents!

Well, the time has come for the little ones and not so little ones (in my case) to head on back to school and even though they're not very happy about it, us parents sure are. For me I know that means, no more all night X-box parties, no more waking up to tons of dirty dishes and glasses in the sink from said parties. No more hearing "I'm bored" oh the list goes on and on....

I can't believe that my boys are sophomore's in high school. I can seriously remember waiting for the bus with them on the first day of Kindergarten like it was yesterday!  Is it just me or is it that the older we get the faster time passes?  So to all of you mom's who are just getting your babies on the bus for the very first time this year. Enjoy it, take pictures not only on your camera but in you mind and in your heart because it goes by way too fast! Before you know it they won't want you within a five mile radius when the bus pulls up. But that's when you can get them back for punishment.....whenever my boys get on my last nerve I threaten to stand outside and wait for the bus with them in my PJ's. And for those of you that think that sounds horrible....you have never experienced raising teenagers....just wait!

So happy first day of school to all the kids! For all the moms I have something for you to enjoy when your sucking in all that peace and quiet of your kid free house! Monday Morning Blues

Well, it's back to work after have an EXTRA long weekend. Is it wrong of me to say that I would rather have my teeth drilled without Novocaine if it meant that I could stay home today instead? Besides having five whole days off and a great time on those days, I also got A LOT of writing done. An Unplanned Life, the sequel to An Unplanned Lesson is about 80% complete. I'm not going to lie, I'm taking my time with this last 20% because I am truly going to miss these characters. I thought that I had a writing hangover when I got done with An Unplanned Lesson well that is going to pale in comparison to the one that I'm going to have when I get done with this book!  I'm relating very well to Diane Keaton's character in Something's Gotta Give....so many tears are being shed as I'm writing this. This in my opinion, is the most emotional book I have written thus far. I know that some of you may not agree after reading it but that's just me. So, I'm letting you all know now....stock up on those tissues when you see them on sale because come November (hopefully) you will using them all up!

In case you missed my Facebook posting last night, here is the teaser that I posted. Rachel Wiser is a new character that you will be introduced to in An Unplanned Life. She will be at the top of you list of characters to hate in this book (trust me, there will be a few others as well). Get to know her, just a little here:

“Nicole! How are you?” Debbie, Dailan’s assistant said as she gave me a hug.

“I’m good.”

“Oh my goodness that baby is just the cutest! Sorry, Dailan had to get called in on his day off, but there’s a problem with one of the big clients he’s threatening to sue the company and Mr. Allan is freaking out.”
“Oh boy, well I just came to collect Ryan and Ella.”

“Oh yeah, come on back I was just getting Ryan a lollipop. Dailan’s in his office on a conference call right now. Rachel and I are in the conference room with the kids.”

“Oh, who’s Rachel?” I asked.

“She’s one of the new paralegals. I’m going to be working full time for Mr. Allan in September.” She rolled her eyes as if she wasn’t pleased. “So, I’m training Rachel. She’ll be working for Dailan.”

“Oh,” I nodded. She opened the door to the conference room and the smile that was on my face immediately faded away. I had to do a double take, when I saw my baby in the arms of Rachel Wiser, the girl who had made my life an unbearable living hell in high school. I was speechless as our eyes locked.

“Nicole Morgan?” She stared at me with her piercing blue eyes that looked as if they were looking right through you.

“Nicole O’Maley,” I corrected her as I snatched Ella from her arms.
