Look What I've Got Coming Up...

I've got a new book on the horizon...want to hear all about it? I'm assuming if you're still reading this, you do, so here it goes....

This one is a little different than my usuals in that the protaganist is forty-eight instead of my usual twenty-something/thirty-something characters. I liked the idea of writing about about a woman who is my age because sometimes...a lot of times actually, books portray women over forty as "old" and that just makes me angry. I would classify this story as women's fiction with a pinch of mystery and a second chance romance thrown in along the way. The steam factor is very low. I know a few of my readers were unhappy with me in my last book (The People We Meet Along The Way) because there wasn't much steam, but as I grow and mature as a writer, I'm becoming of the mindset that less is more. I feel like I can get my point across without going in to explicit details. I'm not knocking other writer's who do, in fact, I admire them for being able to write a good sex scene, it's just not my style anymore. I do believe we evolve and change as writer's from toying with other genres that we wouldn't have dare to explore when we first started out to changing up our writing styles, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. So for my steam loving readers...sorry, this may not be the book for you. But I will say this, the story itself will hold your interest (at least I hope it does). It starts out like this....

Stephanie (our protagonist) is sitting on the beach waiting for the storm to come in, reflecting on her life. She's a divorcee whose daughter is off at college, and she's really unsure of where her next step in life is going to take her. As she's readying herself to leave the beach, she witnesses a man walking by the water. The wind is blowing, the rain is coming down, and the waves in the ocean are ruthless. So, imagine her surprise when the man takes his first steps into the water.  Who is he? Why is he taking such drastic measures? These are all questions that will be answered as the story goes along. I've Got A Little Secret...

I was going to wait to officially announce what I've been doing to help get me through the craziness  in our current world, but I couldn't keep it secret any longer. I know it's early, but I wanted to share  what's coming your way from me (more than likely not until September). I'm hoping this will give you something to look forward to if you're feeling hopeless and down during these uncertain times we're living in. I have to say, these characters are some of my favorites (I know, I say that all the time after each of my books...but what kind of author would I be if I didn't fall in love with the characters I created.) Through them, I got to relive my recent trip and the magic of the Christmas markets in Germany, France and Austria. I visited England (even though I've never been...but I'm still holding out hope that I'll be going fo the first time this summer), and I also learned a lesson in forgiveness. Funny, how we can teach ourselves so much through our own words. So with out further ado, I give you....

My First Release of 2019

I know I'm a week or so late, but...Happy New Year! It's been a while since I've updated my blog, and I'm going to try become a little better with that. Along with eating healthier, exercising more, shedding a few pounds...you know who it all goes!

I come bearing news! I have my first release planned for 2019 - March 29th to be exact! This one took me forever to write because it's different than anything else I've ever done. It falls into multi-genres, the main one being Romance, but some sub-genres as well to include: Suspense and Paranormal.

"The End"...It Never Gets Easier!

A few days ago, I typed “The End” on my 16^th novel. I could hardly believe it. I remember writing my first book and thinking I’d never write another one because I never thought I’d be able to become so engrossed in characters like that again. Turns, out I was able to. Just like your children, you have enough love in your heart for all of them. So, now I will be going into my summer hibernation, and take a little writing break, not because I want to, but because the words just don’t seem to flow as well for me during the summer months. I’ve accepted this, and don’t try to force anything that’s not ready to happen. I WILL NOT publish a book unless I’ve given 100% to the story-line and my characters.

This next book is so special to me. I fell head over heels for all of the characters, even the side ones! It’s an enemies to lovers story which are my favorite to write because it’s so much fun! I’m going to have an exact release date within in the next week or so, but it will more than likely be some time in August. I will also be announcing the cover reveal date too…and wait until you see this cover!

Here’s a little bit about the characters:

Rose: Spoiled rich girl, consumed with expensive clothes, shoes, handbags and rich men! Loves playing matchmaker to others, just doesn’t do a great job finding that perfect match for herself. She’s terrified to give her heart to anyone, and once you get to know her you will grow to really love her (at least I hope you do!).

Alex: Handsome co-worker of Rose and nephew of her boss. He has a major chip on his shoulder especially when it comes to Rose. Will she eventually be able to break down his walls? We shall see!

Lucy: Assistant to Rose and Alex. Awkward, fashion challenged and lacking self-confidence. With Rose’s help she transforms her in into the exact opposite.

Marisa: Co-worker to Rose and Alex. Tough around the edges and not Rose’s biggest fan at first, but then…we’ll let’s just say you’ll have to read the book to see what happens.

Brock: Rose’s “Prince Charming” delivered right to her inbox.

These are just a few of the characters, I’ve been spending the last few months with there are some others who you will find just as special too! I’m so sad to say goodbye, and I think once, you get to know them, you’ll see why!
