The Tear Drop Scale.....Updated

This post is an oldie but goodie I did several years ago. I've updated it to include some of my newer books. If you need a good cry or laugh....check it out!

Studies show that a good cry is good for you...so do something healthy for yourself! Think of my books as an emotional workout! I used the teardrop scale to rate the intensity of the work out that you will receive! So, whatever kind of cry you are in the mood for, big or small....I got ya covered:

Easy Silence:

5 HUMONGOUS tear drops (Super intense: river of teardrops. May cause a massive headache, severe swollen eyes, and some therapy after reading)

A Cry For Hope:

5 tear drops ( Intense: Do not apply any eye make up prior to reading this story, unless you want to be mistaken for a raccoon. Read this when you are completely alone with a box of tissues or better yet, a roll of Bounty paper towels)

A Cry For Hope

The Exception To The Rule:

4 Tear Drops (Moderate: You may ruin your eye makeup while reading, so apply at your own risk.  Box of tissues nearby but there are breaks in the sadness that will allow your eyes to clear up and look somewhat human between cries)
The Exception To The Rule

The rest are all 3 Tear Drops (Mild: Eye makeup should survive. A few tissues from the box will be needed nearby to dab you eyes every now and then. You will easily be able to disguise your crying by saying that you have something in your eye if someone else walks in the room while you are reading)

Drowning In Love

Blind Side of Love

A Right to Remain

Thursday Afternoon

When Autumn Ends

If you'd rather laugh instead (but I can't promise that there won't be a few tears mixed in among the laughter)

Consider these books the cool down portion of your workout:

An Unplanned Lesson/Life

Or:

A Will To Change

When The Chips Are Down

Keepin' The Faith

*These workouts are all available through Kindle Unlimited.

The Dating Game....Beth Rinyu Style

I don't think anywhere in the U.S. is being spared from the bitter cold right now. Days like this have me dreaming of summer and the warm weather.

So, let's play my version of the dating game. Which one of my book boyfriends would you want to keep you warm on a cold Winter night?

Bachelor #1

JULIAN KIRON.....Meet Him Here

Handsome doctor, dark hair, crystal blue eyes, sweet and caring. If his good looks don't win you over his big heart will.

Bachelor #2

DAILAN O'MALEY.....Meet Him Here

Sexy, arrogant, womanizing lawyer. Oh and did I mention? He has an Irish accent. Once you get past his crass exterior he really does have a huge heart.

Bachelor #3

TRAVIS MONTGOMERY.....Meet Him Here

Handsome Olympic swimmer. Killer body, protective. He may be a womanizer and fool you at first but for the right girl he's a one woman man.

So, ladies which one would you choose? Well, why choose just one? There's plenty of them to go  around for everyone!

Stay warm and hopefully one of these fine gentlemen will be helping you do just that tonight!

MY FAVORITE BOOK MOMENTS OF 2013

I can't believe another year has come and gone. Is it me, or does if feel like the older we get the faster time goes by? I hope that everyone has a very safe and happy new year and that 2014 is your best year yet! I cannot wait to introduce everyone to all of the new characters that will be born this year and I'm hoping that you will fall in love with them the same way that you have with all of my others. So in honor of all the characters that you were introduced to in 2013 here are some my favorite moments from all of my books:

Merry Christmas from Travis & Mia

So, I was thinking in each of my books I have a little special Christmas scene with my characters.  So I thought that it would be fun to revisit each one since it is Christmastime after all!  Starting with Drowning in Love and Travis and Mia's very first Christmas together :)

Christmas Day was here and I was so happy to be spending it with Travis and my family. We had spent Christmas Eve with Travis’ family. I had a wonderful time and really loved being in their company; but I was so looking forward to being at my sister’s for Christmas Day. I snapped a million pictures of Paige opening up her presents. This was my favorite part of Christmas, watching her open up her gifts. My sister walked over to clean up the wrapping paper that Paige was getting swallowed in.
“Maybe in a few years, I’ll have a niece or nephew that I can spoil,” my sister said with a smile. I raised my eyebrows at her and shot her a look of displeasure for saying such a thing in front of Travis. Travis and I talked about a lot of things, but kids were never part of the conversation. It was just too soon to be thinking about that.
“She’s kidding, Travis. Don’t pass out,” I said.
“Why would I pass out? I want kids someday.”
“You do?”
“Yeah, especially if it’s with you.” My stomach did a triple flip.
“Aw,” my sister said upon hearing his statement. “Let me take a picture of you guys.” I moved closer to Travis as my sister snapped the picture with her phone and immediately sent it to mine.
I was really feeling down by the end of the night. I had a great time and didn’t want to leave. My mom tried her best to try and coax me and Travis to stay over her house, but I had to be at work in the morning, so I knew that wasn’t an option.
Travis and I arrived back at his place a little after nine. I was exhausted from all of the excitement of the day. I changed into my pajamas and snuggled up with him on the couch, watching TV. He reached behind his back and handed me an envelope and a box. I was a little taken off guard. We had already exchanged presents earlier that morning. I had gotten Travis a new watch and another bottle of his favorite cologne. He had gotten me a beautiful pair of diamond earrings, which I’m sure he spent more on than I cared to know.
“Travis, what is this? We exchanged presents already.”
“Just a couple of things I forgot earlier.” I shook my head and smiled. I opened the envelope and my eyes widened to find an itinerary for a week-long trip to Saint Lucia, leaving on Valentine’s Day. “Oh my God, Travis, This is awesome! I just hope that I can get-”
He stopped me mid-sentence. “It’s already taken care of. I talked to Juan, and you have the week off. It’s going to be just you and me in paradise, celebrating Valentine’s Day for a whole week.”
I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly. “That sounds perfect!”
“And I will get you to swim in the ocean.”
“We’ll just have to see about that one.”
He smiled and rubbed his forehead against mine. “Open the box,” he said.
“Travis, why did you -”
“Just open it.”
I removed the lid to find a necklace with a beautiful gold heart.
“Read the back,” he instructed.
I flipped it over. To Mia, the girl with the heart of gold and my girl forever. The tears rolled down my face as I ran my thumb over the inscription.
“Okay, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to wear it, but don’t cry about it,” he joked.
“I love it, Travis. I just never thought I could be this happy again. Thank you so much for this beautiful necklace and for allowing me to open my heart again. I love you so much.” I wrapped my arms around him and nuzzled up against him. I had never felt happier than I did right now. I watched the dancing flames in the fireplace while Travis held me tightly in his arms. After living out a yearlong sentence of hell on earth, I had finally made it back to heaven.

Paying It Foward

Good Morning everyone and Happy August, I can't believe how fast that time is going by! Drowning in Love will have been out for a month already this Sunday....wow! Well, the month of August is going to be very exciting.....I will be doing my cover reveal for An Unplanned Life (the sequel to An Unplanned Lesson) on August 7th and there will be a great giveaway that goes along with that.

Also for the month of August I've decided to donate all proceeds from my very first novel (which is very near and dear to my heart) The Exception to the Rule to St. Jude Research Hospital for Children. I had this story in my head forever and when I finally sat down and typed it out, I let my friends and family read it, of course they told me that they loved it. So, I took a chance and published it for the rest of the world to see. I was so afraid that they might not be as nice as my friends and family. Well, I never expected to receive all the kind words and reviews that I have over the past few months from people who have read it. I didn't set out to  make a million dollars when I wrote it. I wrote it from my heart and felt like it was a beautiful story that needed to be shared and enjoyed by others. Based on the feedback that I've been receiving I feel as if I have achieved my goal. So now I would like to use the book to help a great hospital that does so much. I am fortunate enough to say I have two very healthy children. Others are not, so I feel that whatever I can give however large or small will help make even a tiny teeny difference in someone else's world who needs it. So please spread the word so we can make this a great donation for a great cause!
Have a great day everyone :)

One week later.....

Well, it's been  one week since I officially introduced Travis and Mia to rest of the world  and so far everyone has been kind to them. I am very happy with the feedback that I've been receiving and I am so thankful that everyone loves Travis & Mia as much as I do. It is now available in paper back and on itunes. I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to message me with their kind words, or wrote reviews on Drowning In Love, I really do appreciate it. To all of my favorite book bloggers....I was holding my breath that you guys were going to like it. Thanks for reviewing, blogging and spreading the word about it. I'm so glad that all of you enjoyed it! I'm still going through major character withdraw, missing Travis & Mia very much! But they have their happily ever after that they have to live out and they don't need me intruding in life anymore (don't mind me, I talk about my characters like they're real).

I will be on vacation this whole week. I will be bringing my laptop, to be spending some time with Dailan and Nicole but don't know what the internet access is like where I'm staying at. So, if you don't hear from me as much....I was not abducted by aliens. So continue to spread the word about Drowning In Love while I'm gone! Hopefully when I get back I will have a lot more pages of Dailan and Nicole for you guys.  Hope all of you have a great week....I know I'm going to try, really hard!

Saying Goodbye To Another Book Couple...It's Never Easy.

Well hopefully you all know by now, that I released my latest novel Drowning In Love a bit earlier than planned. I had planned on  July 22nd then I was thinking that July 10th would have been the perfect day, since the book was dedicated to my grandmother and her birthday is the 10th. But I was like a kid on Christmas morning an had to hit that publish button!

It's live on Amazon, and nook. It's uploaded to itunes but not live yet and it should be available in paperback by next week. If anyone would like a signed copy you can order one right from this blog through the pay pal link.

I'm excited but sad about it being released.....all of the anticipation is over. I can no longer open up my laptop and delve into  Travis' and Mia's world. Not to mention, I really miss them! I know this sounds crazy but, my characters become like old friends to me and when I end a book I feel like I've severed a friendship. Thankfully, I know that they are never too far away. I just have to fire up my kindle and I can go back and visit any of my book couples any time....and yes I do quite often!

So, now I have to  move on to my next book couple.....Hmmmm do you know who they are? I think you just may!

If you've read Drowning In Love or any of my books, would you mind leaving a review on Goodreads or whatever website that you purchased them from?

My New Release is Live on Amazon

Well, my original date to release Drowning In Love was July 22nd until I got the edited/formatted copy in my hands and well....then the suspense was killing me! So, I was going to see if I could wait until I got 1,000 likes on my FB page and well....I got to 868 and I was climbing the walls to hit the publish button. So, I did! Travis and Mia's beautiful love story is now live on Amazon and should be live for nook very shortly.  I am hoping to have it up on paperback within the next few weeks. Now I feel a kid on Christmas morning who just got done opening all of their presents! On to my next book couple.....I think some of you may have already met them already! Hello Sunday....

I was going to wait until later to post the final teaser to Drowning In Love but....I'm impatient! I'm a little sad because this will be the final  teaser before it releases (and all of you know how much I love teasers). I can't believe that it's almost here. It's like preparing for a wedding all of the time an prep work that goes into preparing it and in one day.....it's over! But that just motivates me to conjure up more stories and characters to bring to life for you guys in new books!

Don't forget An Unplanned Lesson is still .99 cents on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. There's still time left to spend some time with a sexy Irish guys, for cheap! Plus, it will prepare you for my next book that I have coming your way - An Unplanned Life

Okay, I know what your thinking.....quit rambling and post the teaser already! (Don't forget to add to your TBR list on Goodreads)

Trying To Kick My Teaser Addiction

I can't believe it's less than a month away until the release of Drowning in Love. It's hard to believe that I will bringing another book couple to life on the pages of a book or in today's age the screen of an e-reader. Every time I get done writing a book, I feel like I won't be able to ever get into another book couple. When I wrote my first novel  The Exception To The Rule, I thought that would be my one and only. There was no way that I would ever be able to love another book couple as much as I loved Kat & Julian. But the writing urge hit me once again and I sat behind my laptop and began to type out Dailan & Nicole's story. I have to admit, it took me a while to get into them but once I did, I found that I love them just as much as Kat & Julian.  So, about four months ago, I decided to get to know a new book couple, Travis & Mia and guess what.....I love them just as much as the others!  I'm finding that my characters are much like my children, they are all unique in their own way  and I love them all just the same. I could never say that I have a favorite, because I love them all equally. I hope that you guys will love Travis & Mia the same way that you have grown to love my other characters.

I'm so excited for you guys to meet Travis & Mia. Their story is a beautiful one, that I'm thinking you may shed a few tears over. I have a confession to make, I have a bit of teaser addiction that I'm trying to kick. But have no fear, I have one more teaser that I will be posting very soon (possibly a bonus teaser as well....a girl like me can't quit cold turkey!) but I may have you guys work a little for that one. I've been posting so many teasers for this one, I'm going to end up in teaser jail! You can  add to your TBR list here.   You can also read the prologue here :

In case you have missed the many teasers that have posted over the past few months here they are once again (in order of the story line) Don't judge....it's a sickness...lol. :)

* The following is copyrighted material and subject to change (unedited)

Teaser  #1

We stood in the hallway and waited for the elevator. “I have to give you credit, that was pretty slick,” I said.

“What?”

“Asking me for coffee in front of your grandmother, so I couldn’t say no.”

“You could have said no. No one was holding a gun to your head.”

We got into the elevator and continued with the conversation.
“Look Travis, I think it’s better if you and I just don’t have any type of relationship. It’s obvious that we can’t be just friends.”

“No Mia, you’re wrong. We can be friends. Look, I’m sorry for what happened last night, this whole friendship thing with women is new to me. But I really do like you and I have a lot of fun when I’m with you. And I’m not going to lie; I think you’re absolutely beautiful.”
We stepped off the elevator and out of the apartment building into the warm muggy air.
“Travis, why would you want to be friends with me?”

“Why wouldn’t I?

“Because I’m just ordinary. I’m not those supermodels that you’re used to being around.

“No Mia, you’re not. You are so much more. Not only are you beautiful, but you also have a great personality, you’re smart and you’re funny. So sometimes ordinary is better.”

Teaser #2

We took a break and sat on a bench looking out onto the ocean. The warm breeze, the salt air and the familar sound of the seagulls flying overhead soothed my senses. There was no place else on earth that I would have rather have been at that particular moment. “How could you not like the ocean?” Travis asked as he stared off.

“It’s not that I don’t like it, I just don’t like swimming in it.”

“That’s because you haven’t been to the right ocean.”

I giggled. “An ocean is an ocean.”

“Have you ever been to an island?”

I shook my head.

“Well, if you had, then you would probably change your mind. Saint Lucia has some of the most beautiful beaches around.”

“I have no doubt that it’s beautiful Travis, but it still doesn’t change the fact that there a million little creatures swimming around with you out there. Not to mention, waves!”

He shook his head. “Not in Saint Lucia, the water is so calm it’s like being in a pool.”

“A pool with sharks, piranhas, barracuda’s and God knows what else.”

He laughed. “I’m going to make a swimmer out you yet, Mia”

“Try as you might, but it will never happen,” I smiled.

His smile back took my breath away, making me think, that maybe I could trust him enough to help me overcome my fears in more ways than one.

Yes.....Another Teaser!

I seriously think they need to start a Teaser's Anonymous support group for authors. I have so many teasers from Drowning In Love that I want to share with everyone that I probably would be able to tell you the whole story with all of them. I can't post them all....right? So I had two more that I really LOVED and thought were worth sharing. Here is the first of the two and the next and final one I will be sharing in a few weeks. Don't forget to add Drowning in Love to your TBR list Drowning In Love on Goodreads.

The week in short....and a little teaser!

Call me crazy but I love getting us super early on the weekends. I get so much done in those few hours before the rest of the world starts to stir. I just wanted to remind everyone about the giveaway that's still going on - 3 more days! So, if you haven't entered don't miss out:

If you have read an Unplanned Lesson and are in love with Dailan as much as me then be sure to check out the  poll question at the top of my Facebook Page. I've decided that I am going to do a second book (An Unplanned Life). I'm writing this for all of the people who have written me and told me how much they loved and Unplanned Lesson and wanted to see more Dailan and Nicole. Plus,I absolutely adore the characters in this book and wanted more of them too. My fingers just don't stop moving on the keyboard when I'm typing this story, they are so easy to write about! It is going to be a sequel/prequel  to An Unplanned Lesson. You will get to see where Nicole and Dailan are now with their life while flashing back to Nicole's painful past. I am hoping that the readers will get a true sense of exactly why Nicole was so emotionally distraught in An Unplanned Lesson, when they visit her past. Let me tell, you I am getting emotionally distraught writing it. There are quite a few people in her past who are really making me angry, so much so that I need to step away from my computer when I'm writing it.Those of you that have read and An Unplanned Lesson, can probably guess who a few of those people are. Plus there are a few more characters that you haven't met yet, that I promise, you will LOVE to HATE! I've shed quite a few tears for Nicole already and I'm hoping that you guys will too.

Travis and Mia will be here in a little over a month....I have two more teasers that I want to share with you guys. Okay, really I have like ten, but I had to narrow it down.....don't want to give away too much! Be sure to add it to your TBR List.  You can also check out the prologue here. So, I won't keep you waiting any longer.....here is the latest teaser from Drowning in Love. Mia and Travis are still at the "just friends" stage in their relationship....but deep down inside she knows it's so much more.....enjoy :)

Just because....giveaway

I said goodbye to another book couple yesterday. I always get so sad when that day comes! After spending many months creating them and getting to know them it's hard to say goodbye. Sort of like watching your kids grow up. But I know that means I'm one step closer to having all of you meet them. You will get to read all about Travis & Mia's love story on July 22nd. For those of you that have read both of my books, this one is more like The Exception To The Rule, it's a very emotional love story. It does have some funny scenes between Mia and her BFF but the scenes between Travis and Mia are more serious. Travis is more like Julian than Dailan.

Speaking of Dailan .....I have a surprise in store for you guys....can't tell you what just yet, but all of you Dailan O'Maley lovers will be very happy!!

So since it's Monday, It's a dreary day (at least where I'm at) and I'm missing Travis & Mia already. I've decided to do a giveaway....just because! Good Luck and don't forget to mark you calendars for July 22nd!
