Monday Morning Blues

Well, it's back to work after have an EXTRA long weekend. Is it wrong of me to say that I would rather have my teeth drilled without Novocaine if it meant that I could stay home today instead? Besides having five whole days off and a great time on those days, I also got A LOT of writing done. An Unplanned Life, the sequel to An Unplanned Lesson is about 80% complete. I'm not going to lie, I'm taking my time with this last 20% because I am truly going to miss these characters. I thought that I had a writing hangover when I got done with An Unplanned Lesson well that is going to pale in comparison to the one that I'm going to have when I get done with this book!  I'm relating very well to Diane Keaton's character in Something's Gotta Give....so many tears are being shed as I'm writing this. This in my opinion, is the most emotional book I have written thus far. I know that some of you may not agree after reading it but that's just me. So, I'm letting you all know now....stock up on those tissues when you see them on sale because come November (hopefully) you will using them all up!

In case you missed my Facebook posting last night, here is the teaser that I posted. Rachel Wiser is a new character that you will be introduced to in An Unplanned Life. She will be at the top of you list of characters to hate in this book (trust me, there will be a few others as well). Get to know her, just a little here:

“Nicole! How are you?” Debbie, Dailan’s assistant said as she gave me a hug.

“I’m good.”

“Oh my goodness that baby is just the cutest! Sorry, Dailan had to get called in on his day off, but there’s a problem with one of the big clients he’s threatening to sue the company and Mr. Allan is freaking out.”
“Oh boy, well I just came to collect Ryan and Ella.”

“Oh yeah, come on back I was just getting Ryan a lollipop. Dailan’s in his office on a conference call right now. Rachel and I are in the conference room with the kids.”

“Oh, who’s Rachel?” I asked.

“She’s one of the new paralegals. I’m going to be working full time for Mr. Allan in September.” She rolled her eyes as if she wasn’t pleased. “So, I’m training Rachel. She’ll be working for Dailan.”

“Oh,” I nodded. She opened the door to the conference room and the smile that was on my face immediately faded away. I had to do a double take, when I saw my baby in the arms of Rachel Wiser, the girl who had made my life an unbearable living hell in high school. I was speechless as our eyes locked.

“Nicole Morgan?” She stared at me with her piercing blue eyes that looked as if they were looking right through you.

“Nicole O’Maley,” I corrected her as I snatched Ella from her arms.

Paying It Foward

Good Morning everyone and Happy August, I can't believe how fast that time is going by! Drowning in Love will have been out for a month already this Sunday....wow! Well, the month of August is going to be very exciting.....I will be doing my cover reveal for An Unplanned Life (the sequel to An Unplanned Lesson) on August 7th and there will be a great giveaway that goes along with that.

Also for the month of August I've decided to donate all proceeds from my very first novel (which is very near and dear to my heart) The Exception to the Rule to St. Jude Research Hospital for Children. I had this story in my head forever and when I finally sat down and typed it out, I let my friends and family read it, of course they told me that they loved it. So, I took a chance and published it for the rest of the world to see. I was so afraid that they might not be as nice as my friends and family. Well, I never expected to receive all the kind words and reviews that I have over the past few months from people who have read it. I didn't set out to  make a million dollars when I wrote it. I wrote it from my heart and felt like it was a beautiful story that needed to be shared and enjoyed by others. Based on the feedback that I've been receiving I feel as if I have achieved my goal. So now I would like to use the book to help a great hospital that does so much. I am fortunate enough to say I have two very healthy children. Others are not, so I feel that whatever I can give however large or small will help make even a tiny teeny difference in someone else's world who needs it. So please spread the word so we can make this a great donation for a great cause!
Have a great day everyone :)
